REVIEWS / READERS AND PUBLISHERS COMMENTS
A Question of Answers is a book for all the Bridget Jones fans; it’s a laugh out loud page turner of a book. This is a book that has something for all women of all ages, and also a bit for the gentlemen who like to read the problem pages of women’s magazines.
The book allows the reader to step into the life of Harriet Glover who is a primary school teacher sympathetic to the disadvantages blighting the school. With what must be the worst luck ever; it seems that Harriet moves from one catastrophe to another, which leaves the reader laughing out loud whilst cringing at the same time. The humour is a spontaneous by-product of the story, but nevertheless, it’s impossible to stop yourself from laughing.
A Question of Answers is a typical holiday read, with its easy to read style, yet at the same time being fast paced. This book reflects the pace of Harriet Glover’s life as a modern day woman, attempting to juggle all of the issues that modern women are faced with. Margaret Henderson Smith covers every aspect of life from love, family right through to loathing. This novel is layered and the love story within it almost suggests her dilemma rests between the safe choice and the choice that is exciting and new, which is the dilemma all good love stories have. The indecision of those critical to her dilemma, however, stack up the complexities, leaving the reader wanting more and hoping for a sequel.
Henderson Smith’s book is a work of modern fiction offering insight in a congenial read. At the same time it is full of hilarious situations that the reader will revel in.
